The FX® marking cartridges, available in six colors, are the core of the FX® Training System, known as the world’s most realistic close-range combat training system. The patented, reduced-energy, non-lethal cartridges leave a detergent-based, water-soluble color-marking compound that produces visible impacts for accurate assessment of simulated lethality. FX® marking cartridges are available in 9mm and 5.56mm. The 9mm cartridges feature tactical accuracy up to 25 feet (7.6 meters), while the 5.56mm cartridges are tactically accurate with ball cartridges up to 100 feet (30 meters). No special ballistic facilities are required.
The 5.56mm FX® Marking Cartridge is composed of a brass cartridge case, propellant, percussion primer, sealing disc, plastic sabot, and a deforming plastic projectile filled with a detergent-based marking solution.
The 9mm FX® Marking Cartridge is composed of a brass cartridge case, propellant, percussion primer, plastic sabot, and a deforming plastic projectile filled with a detergent-based marking solution.
The 7.62mm FX® Marking Cartridge is designed for military and law enforcement training programs. It is approved for range use, non-toxic, non-lethal, and easily washable with cold water. Available in red and blue, FX® Non-Marking cartridges are also available. The cartridge delivers a similar impact penalty to the 9mm FX® Marking Cartridge and provides visible impacts for accurate assessment of simulated lethality. It is tactically accurate to 30 meters (100 feet) and suitable for indoor and outdoor training environments. The 7.62mm FX® Marking Cartridge is intended for use with FX® 9000 Series Protective Equipment.

The 9mm FX® Non-Marking Cartridge is composed of a brass cartridge case, propellant, ToxFree® percussion primer, plastic sabot, and a deforming plastic projectile without any marking compound. It is designed for force-on-force interactive training scenarios where a marking projectile is not desirable.
The 5.56mm FX® GEN2 Non-Marking Cartridge is composed of a brass cartridge case, propellant, percussion primer, sealing disk, plastic sabot, and a deforming plastic projectile without any marking compound.
